Proudly born and raised in Halifax, Labi Kousoulis grew up attending schools in the South End.
Labi graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Finance, is a Certified Management Accountant, and is currently pursuing a Master in Business Administration with the Saint Mary’s University Sobey School of Business.
He has worked as a Commercial Lender with Scotia bank, an executive member of Wilsons Fuels, and as Controller at Trenton Works. Additionally, Labi has started various small businesses.
Elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Halifax Citadel-Sable Island on the 8th of October 2013, Labi was subsequently sworn in as a member of the Executive Council of Nova Scotia. He currently serves as the Minister of the Public Service Commission and Minister of Internal Services. He is also the Chair of the Issues Committee, and a member of the Treasury Board.
Giving back to his community, Labi has coached the Dunbrack Senior Men’s soccer team, mentored graduating Certified Management Accountants, volunteered as an auditor for his church, and Chaired Halifax Greek Fest on three occasions.
